José Luis Alonso is since 2017 professor of Roman law, Juristic Papyrology and Private Law at the University of Zürich. Doctor of Law by the University of Santiago de Compostela, his studies on the Roman delegation were honoured with one of the prices of the Commision Boulvert 2004. He has been professor of Roman law at the University of the Basque Country from 2001 to 2017, and member of the department of Papyrology at the University of Warsaw between 2010 and 2013, where he led a project of the Polish National Centre for the Science on the legal structure of real securities in the law of the papyri.
